Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment that lays its main emphasis on the structural integrity of the body. It is distinctive in the fact that it recognises that much of the pain and disability we suffer from stems from abnormalities in the function and mobility of the body.
Osteopaths work with their hands, using a wide variety of techniques. These include soft tissue techniques, joint manipulation, or manipulative techniques, functional techniques and mussel energy techniques; all of which are employed to improve joint mobility. Some may employ cranial techniques, especially useful in treating babies and children.
