Hello, I'm Adam Lancashire, DO (Doctor of Osteopathy), a primary care specialist and member of the General Osteopathic Council and British Medical Acupunture Society. He attained a Bsc (Hons) degree in osteopathy and a diploma in naturopathy from the College of Osteopaths Borehamwood in association with Middlesex University, and is fully registered with the GeneralOsteopathic Council. Qualification followed an intensive five year course with training to a very high standard in anatomy, physiology, orthopaedics, pathology, conventional and osteopathic diagnosis and treatment, to name just a few.
By law an osteopath has to be registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). Qualification to be an osteopath requires studying for 4-5 years for an undergraduate degree, and then compulsorycontinuing study every year after graduation. The British Medical Association's guidance for doctors states that they can safely refer patients to osteopaths.
