Many patients come to see us who suffer with back pain but one in particular sticks out in my mind - Sarah. As I was examining her my instincts told me something was not right. Having examined herthoroughly by using generic osteopathic as well as our own techniques I was certain that she had Kidney disease and as such referred her to A & E.

Osteopathy is a safe and effective form of manual therapy which works to relieve pain in muscles and joints by improving mobility and blood flow and reducing swelling. Our bodies naturally tendtowards healing, and osteopathy enhances the body's ability to heal itself. Cranial osteopathy is a very gentle form of osteopathy where subtle manual techniques elicit changes in tension within the body.

Osteopathy is a holistic form of manual therapy which aims to restore normal function to the patient's body, using gentle manipulative techniques. Under 'The Osteopaths Act 1993' osteopathy became thefirst complementary health care profession to be accorded statutory recognition.

My name is Margaret Sinclair and I am a fully qualified osteopath, cranial osteopath and sport massage therapist. I trained at the British School of Osteopathy and I love my job. So I spend most of mytime either barefoot, or as near as I can get. Which is why I am often found wearing the toe shoes called Vibram Five Fingers™, especially when treating patients.

If you have had back, neck or joint pain for a short time then hands-on treatment can be very effective. Treatment consists of gentle osteopathic techniques such as massage, articulation and, importantly, information and advice about your pain; with the aim of getting you fit and pain-free as quickly as possible.

My aim is to help you, your baby or child back to health as easily as possible. I am concerned with overall health and the cause of the problem rather than just the symptoms. I have specialistexperience and qualifications in treatment of babies, children (including special needs and developmental delay) and pregnant and post -natal mothers. Cranial osteopathy addresses dysfunction in the body by using gentle touch to prompt and support change.

My interest in osteopathy developed after treatment for a sustained period of low back pain. Rather than train as a medic, I preferred to follow a path that focused on palpation and manual techniques, without necessarily resorting to medication and surgery. I graduated with a Masters in Osteopathy (distinction) from the British School of Osteopathy, and in 2011 established the KHW Health clinics providing osteopathy to Kingston, Surbiton, Hampton Wick, Teddington and Whitton.

Osteopathy is an established recognised system of diagnosis and treatment, which lays its main emphasis on the structural and functional integrity of the body. It is distinctive by the fact that itrecognises that much of the pain and disability from which we suffer stems from abnormalities in the function of the body structure as well as damage caused to it by disease.

I started in the health care field in 2000 as a physiotherapist in Germany, where I specialised in post-surgery rehabilitation. After a few years I noticed how the closed down view of physiotherapywas treating mainly symptoms instead of causes, and although most patients got better, there were too many that kept coming back with the same symptoms. Especially back pain was difficult to treat with techniques that relied mainly on exercises.
